I’ve been creating

I have been making pretty pictures out of my photographs and stock photos using overlays and brushes in Photo Shop. I get so involved some days that I forget to look at the clock and the day is gone before I know it. Enjoy.

I have taken my picture of the Peter Iredale shipwreck and composited it with a stock image from © Photography by Cathleen Tarawhiti 2007 – 2012 at Dievetart. This was a fun piece to do, it seemed to fall into place after I saw the model image.

This photo I “found” this morning while looking for another was taken while I was on the Coast of Oregon last year. I had forgotten how much I liked the picture.

Changing My M.O.

I have included some art to my repertoire using some of my photos. Here are some examples. The first was an assignment to make a creation to show my interests . The second was an assignment to create from a common object in my  picture files. This has been a journey that I am enjoying, we will see where it leads.

 

Promised photos

I have been working through the hundreds of photo’s I took in Yellowstone. It is a lot of work. Over the next few weeks I will posting some of them. Here are the first.

Long time no see

I am always surprised that time goes as fast as it does. Several thousand pictures later and several months later here I am again. I have been a long time gone. Sorry about that, I have been distracted by life.

Since I have been here last I’ve been in Alaska, eastern Washington,  southern Utah, northern Arizona, southern Nevada and Yellowstone  with my camera.

That is quite a geographic spread. Then there are the boring every day things that have no pictures worth printing.

It was 10 deg c. when I woke this morning, what a wonderful day to photograph ice crystals. I just enjoyed them through the window.

As you can imagine there is a lot of editing that has to happen and like most photographers I know that is not as much fun as clicking the shutter button. Now, I will sit down and really do some work on editing.

The first one this morning is an Antelope from Yellowstone taken just a few days ago. Yellowstone is warm for this time of the year, this fellow was shot just outside Gardnier,  the Montana entrance to the park.  The sun flower is from southern Utah the red rocks are from Valley of Fire state park in southern Nevada. As I get through them I will start posting more. I am planning to be sitting in my chair at the computer for the next few months, with occasional foray’s into the outside world as needed to remain connected.

I have been out taking photos again, this time in Eastern Washington, No real phone/internet available. So I will post some pictures here

Old Barns abound in this farming community, they have been abandoned for steel buildings or just not used any more.

This was an inspiring place to shoot. I was all over the place. One good thing, I didn’t get caught by a wave like my companion did. Not that I didn’t give the ocean every opportunity. Hope you like them as much as I did taking them. It was gloomy, not much color. Post processing did drag some color out

Getting some energy back, I have been trying to do mundane boring stuff to clear the pallet so to speak. Now I can look with a fresh eye and be more critical (as if I weren’t already my worst critic) Here are a few I took to please me. Left cold and winter to find spring and starfish.
